What We Do...
The Downtown Development Commission was originated to carry out the tasks of the
Main Street Program. It is a not for profit, volunteer commission whose
activities and programs are designed to enhance the economic and cultural
vitality of Henderson’s Historic Central Business District. The Commission does
this in various ways.

- • Landscaping/Parking Improvement Grants
- • Business Recruitment
- • Marketing of Available Property & Existing Businesses
- • Providing Customer Conveniences/Represen• Providing Customer & Merchant Conveniences/Representation
- • Special Events e/Ordinance Issues
- • Downtown Appearance Maintenance
The organization is also often involved in seeking legislative and governmental
support of bills and budget issues that benefit revitalization efforts and
related programs.
Incentive Grant Program – The purpose of this program is to encourage exterior
renovation and restoration of commercial buildings and surrounding landscapes in
Downtown Henderson while preserving their historic features. These grants are
available only to tenants or owners of commercial property within the boundaries
of the current Main Street Program area. (See map below)
